Lumonisity Blog Tour: Guest Post from Beatrice + Giveaway

by Stephanie Thomas
Expected publication: November 13th 2012 by Entangled Teen
My name is Beatrice. When I was born, I was blessed with the Sight. I was immediately removed from my parents and enrolled in the Institution. At the age of twelve, I had my first true vision, earning my raven’s wings. And when I turned seventeen, one of my visions came true. Things haven’t been the same since.

The Institution depends on me to keep the City safe from our enemy, the Dreamcatchers, but I’m finding it harder to do while keeping a secret from everyone, including my best friend Gabe. It is a secret that could put us all in danger. A secret that could kill me and everyone close to me.

But the enemy has been coming to me in my dreams, and I think I’m falling in love with him. He says they’re coming. He says they’re angry. And I think I’ve already helped them win.

Guest Post
Hey, everyone! It’s me, Beatrice, and I’ve been asked to describe the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. You know, it’s kind of hard to say, since I “see” a lot of terrifying things sometimes, when I get my Visions, which show me glimpses of the future. Lately, though, I’ve been having Visions of the Dreamcatchers coming to destroy my hometown, The City. I’ve Seen other Seers dead and broken, strewn around the Institution like they were nothing but pieces of carelessly-discarded trash. I don’t like having these Visions, but I can’t choose what is shown to me and what isn’t. I can only share and act on it, and hope that I can save the City and my friends before it’s too late.

Review: Just For Now by Abbi Glines

I realized sitting here looking at her that I loved her. I’d been right. When you love someone you cant lie to them. It hurts too much. it’s a deception that goes too deep. ~ ARC p. 198
Awwwwwwww that can't the end if it!!! It was too good to be over so soon!!!

by Abbi Glines
*I recieved an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Expected publication: October 30th 2012 by Simon & Schuster
The day Preston Drake figured out that wealthy women paid well for a set of tight abs and a pretty face his life turned around.

The run down rat-infested trailer he had shared with his alcoholic mother and three younger siblings was now only a place he visited to pay the bills and stock the pantry with food.

He no longer worried about his family starving or living without electricity. The money he made entertaining rich older women more than covered his family’s needs and his own. He had it all figured out. Except…

There was this girl.

She was as innocent as he was tainted.

Amanda Hardy wished her knees didn’t get weak when Preston walked into a room. She hated the fact her heart raced when he flashed his smile in her direction. He had a different girl in his bed every night. He was the kind of boy a smart girl ran from. So, why was she coming up with ways to get close to him? Even when it was obvious he wanted to keep her at a distance.

Maybe her heart knew something the world didn’t. Maybe Preston Drake was more than just a pretty face.

One again Abbi has delivered my dose of contemporary bliss! Every word, ever character and every heart pounding, blood pumping and earth shattering moment I fall under Abbi’s spell even more.

I was in love with Cage from While It Lasts. Like hold me close and never let me go kind of love Cage and wasn't sure if Preston could live up to him. Preston is a bigger man whore than Cage was and I mean seriously, Cage was just so off the charts sexy and charming the only thing to top him should be me! But Preston just hit your heart in the right way you are instantly puddy in his hands.

Preston & Amanda, steaming up this review
Now I did something while reading this book that I haven't done before. I cried. Yes that is right after I got out if my ice water bath I was drying my eyes! Preston might be a man whore and lets face it, us ladies do love a man that knows how to use the equipment the right way, but under all of that charm, Preston is a broken man and harbors some dark secrets. And the things he does (I don’t want to give it away because seriously everyone needs to just enjoy his story) are so just GAH! Really, I was on the verge of tears almost every time Preston was doing something to help his family (ok that is seriously all I am going to tell you about his secrets, cuz I wont tell!!!!)

Preston and Amanda's sorry is steamy and striking. It's perfection and I am so sad that I read it because now it's over and I'm pining even harder for more. Really, I mean that prologue opens with a HUGE fricking BANG BANG!!! Major pun intended! These two are so in need of love you cant help but keep rooting for the two of them to work it out.

Preston Simmons, posing as Preston Drake

Preston is your wonderful bad boy! Total man whore and is differentially not interested in being a one woman man. But Amanda could change his world! And Amanda has of course had a crush on her brothers best friend forever (because really, that is just to damn hot!) Now I really did love Preston, and I enjoyed Amanda, but I have to deduct a half a star because I felt that during their story, Amanda was too forgiving and too desperate. In the end, she redeemed herself, but at times I was hoping she would have more of a back bone. But I still love the hell out of these two!

I can never get enough of Abbi’s books. I seriously danced my happy dance and blew off all responsibility and read this puppy all day! Seriously I was supposed to start packing and I had other books to read but fuck when Abbi gives you a gift you open immediately and play with it!

It's no doubt that Abbi is easily becoming my queen of contemporary reading world and I cannot get enough! I mark her books on my calendar for their release dates and they are the books I get most excited for! I just need more! I hope she never stops writing!

Just for now is…ugh…just as great as her other books. We get to see Marcus and Low more and it's ever so sweet. The world that Abbi has created is perfection and I just love being taken south and being introduced to just good ol’ southern boys! Makes me want to book a flight south!

Fans of Abbi will instantly recognize her contemporary magic and fall hard and fast for Amanda and Preston. If you haven't read this series why have you waited!! These books are like fucking Pringles. You cant have just one. You will pick one up and be like oooh that is so good and savory I think I will have another. You will keep reading all of her books because they are just the best kind of book candy out there! They are just amazing! I can’t think of any more adjectives to describe my love for Abbi’s books and this series! I come down to my simple line: JUST FUCKING READ IT! you will not be disappointed.

Again I did this is one sitting because I can never put down the books!!! And why the hell would I want to!!! These books make my lady parts sing and it fulfills my every desire for what I want out of my books!

Everyone who has been waiting for the other Hardy to get their story won't be disappointed!!!

Now…send me the next book! I'm ready for my next southern boy!!!

Calculus was not math. It was a fucking science experiment gone wrong. ~ ARC p. 75

Review: While It Lasts by Abbi Glines

His acceptance of my stupidity made something in me melt. Had I ever know anyone like him before? He made mistakes and fessed up to them. He didn’t make excuses for the things he did wrong. He just dealt with it and went on. I wanted to be that strong. I wanted that kind of determination to just live. ~Kindle Location 2705

Maybe driving home after a few (or more) shots of tequila had been a bad idea, but hell, he did it all the time. The cops had to have been freaking bored to have pulled him over. He wasn’t even swerving! That’s Cage York’s story and he’s sticking to it.

Unfortunately, his baseball coach isn’t buying it. Cage has a free ride to the local junior college for baseball -- or he did, until he’d gotten a DUI. Now, Cage has to decide: does he drop out and give up his dream of getting noticed by a college in the SEC, and possibly making it into the Major Leagues -- or does he give in to his coach’s demands and spend his summer baling hay?

Eva Brooks planned out her life step by step when she was eight years old. Not once over the years had she lost sight of her goals. Josh Beasley, her next door neighbor, had been the center of those goals. He’d been her first boyfriend at seven, her first kiss at ten, her first date at fifteen, and her first tragedy at eighteen. The moment she’d received the phone call from Josh’s mother saying he’d been killed along with four other soldiers just north of Baghdad, Eva’s carefully planned life imploded in the worst way possible.

Cage isn’t real happy with his closet-sized bedroom in the back of a foul smelling barn, or his daily interactions with cows, but he knows that if he doesn’t make his coach happy then he can kiss his scholarship goodbye. Only a sick and twisted man would decide his punishment was to be working on a farm all summer. No hot babes in bikinis waiting to meet a Southern boy to make her vacation complete. Just him and the damned cows.

Oh -- and an uptight, snarky brunette with the biggest blue eyes he’s every seen. But she doesn’t count, because as hard as he’s tried to charm her out of her panties - he’s pretty sure she’d rather see him hung from the rafters than let him get a taste of her pretty little lips.

I have loved Abbi’s books for a long time. She is an amazing woman and wonderful author who has great interactions with her readers. I have read and will always read every book she puts out (I am a bit behind on the Existence series but alas I will catch up!) But I have always come just shy of totally loving Abbi’s books. They always fell into the 4.5 category for me. I loved the story, the characters and everything she did but I always felt like I was left wanting...more. I felt like she was holding back some.

But damn it did I ever get my fucking more! In the form of sexy Cage York and his damn nipple ring. I finally got my more!

The sound of the farm truck ratted as it came rolling to a stop out beside the barn. Willow flashed a smile at me then waved to Cage as he climbed out. Why was he shirtless already? It was eight in the morning. All he’d done was feed the cows. ~Kindle Location 2009

While It Lasts is everything I wanted and more. You can see my Vincent Brothers review to see what I mean. That book was also almost there too. The heat was turned WAY up, the story was heart warming and everything was amazing but I was still missing something from The Vincent Brothers. But While it Lasts finally gave me what I have been wanting from Abbi and what I knew she could deliver. One KILLER love story.

Finally I got it!! And I have to say thank you Abbi! You gave me Cage, who I will forever be lusting over. I am also now on a mission to try and convince my boyfriend to get his nipple pierced!!

It's a true testament to an authors power when they can make you cry, get turned in, cry again, get turned on again have an OH SHIT face and then proceed to cry while being turned on and have goose bumps explode all over your body all at the same time!!!
Cage stood up and began lifting his shirt off over his head and all thought was lost. Was that a barbell in his nipple? “What is that?” I asked, unable to take my eyes off the small silver bar that was definitely attached to his hard toned pec. “It’s a piercing, sweet Eva. Now get your sexy ass up and go swim with me. You gotta be hot.” I shook my head still trying to figure out when he’d gotten a nipple piercing. “I’ve never seen it before.” I finally stated. ~Kindle Location 2614
Cake York & Eva
I am doing something I never do. I am writing this review, which I never planed on because I tend to not review books that I consider my pleasure tbr (the books I bought and just want to read with no obligation.) I am writing this right after I finalized the book (Ok not right after. I had to pee first. Don't mind me it's almost 4 am right now. Not now publishing but now while writing.) I should have known better than to start an Abbi book late at night. I finished this in one sitting because I COULD NOT STOP! I was going to at one point cuz my heart was breaking but damn it I couldn't!!! It is unputdownable!

So Abbi, when I left you last in TVB review I said I wanted more. More pages more steam just more. I really think you read that and wrote WIL just for me because you gave me EVEUTHING I wanted!!! And then went and gave it a nipple piercing which was nothing I could have dreamed of ever wanting.

Cage and Eva’s story is a straight up southern country boy in love with the farmer’s daughter book crack perfect read! It is everything that I was hoping for and as per usual tater fashion, I am running out of adjectives to describe my love for Abbi’s books! I can’t stand how amazing this was and how much I enjoyed it!!

The best kind of forbidden love that is out there, Cage and Eva fall fast and hard for one another. I was instantly attracted to Cage even before I knew he was going to have his own book. Honestly, I have it bad fore these southern boys that Abbi creates, but Cage takes the cake for them ALL.

My typical line when it comes to an Abbi book: JUST FUCKING READ IT! you will not be disappointed.

My phone battery is dying now so I will adjust and fix up this mess later (and now as I am typing is the later and I hope you all have enjoyed my 4 am ramblings!! You will get to see this crazy tater again with the next Abbi book because I can never learn to start these babies earlier and always end up reading it in one sitting!)

I must go and dream of cage...or maybe I'll start this one over. It's that FUCKINH good!!!

“It is just piercings that get you hot or do you like tats too, because I got a killer one just under my boxer briefs that ill let you feel later if you want,” I teased. Her head snapped back in shock until she saw the teasing smile on my face. Her laughter was just what I needed to make the disaster the night had been so far better.

“You are such a bad boy.” ~Kindle Location 3936

Losing It Blog Tour: Review + Giveaway

Hey everyone!! Welcome to my stop on the Losing It blog tour!!! New author Cora Cormack wrote a wonderful New Adult book that I think everyone should check out!!! I am here today with my buddie guest reviewer Erin with her take on Losing It!! Check out the full review HERE and be sure to enter the giveaway below!! You know everyone loves to win stuff!!!

by Cora Carmack

Virginity.

Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible-- a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if if that weren't embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She'd left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.

And here is a quick sneek peek at her review. Be sure to check out the full review HERE!!!

Erin's Take
When I saw the cover of this book on a friend's GR page, I knew I had to check it out, and I once I read the blurb I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! Turns out Garrick is just as dreamy as he's personified on this cover, and this was one sexy, fun, sweet romance that I just loved!

Garrick was such a lovable character, it was so easy to fall in love with him right along with Bliss (such a cute name, and perfect for her character!). When she first meets him in the bar that fateful night she was determined to finally lose her V card, the flirty banter between the two of them started out adorable and then turned oh-so-sexy!!! Garrick was just a prince charming with a dirty sexy side that didn't take much coaxing, and my heart was racing for every minute of that night they (almost) shared!! What an entirely awkward, embarrassing situation for her, but DAMN I was still fanning myself afterwards! Whew, Garrick sure knows the female body well!!! And I've yet to mention the fact that this sexy beast of a man is British, so reading his dialogue with the accent just made him entirely too smoking hot for words!!! *bites knuckles* He really was the perfect guy; so sweet and caring, strong and not willing to take no for an answer, drop-dead gorgeous without being cocky, and underneath it all he knows how to keep his lady satisfied...mmmhmmm!!! =)

Anna Whitt, daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a claim. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight.

Now Bliss...I went through so many emotions for this girl, I felt like I was in a pinball machine bouncing back and forth! I was worried her naivete would drive me crazy, but she wasn't irritatingly inexperienced like I'd worried. In fact, I was surprised how much of a vixen she was that first night she and Garrick meet...well, up until she has the mother-of-all freak outs!! And I have to say, IT WAS HILARIOUS!!! Bliss has that ill-fated condition of diarrhea of the mouth, where things just pop out and she has to deal with the aftermath. The excuse she comes up with for ending her and Garrick's moment of (heart-racing) passion was downright ridiculous to the point you just wish she could hear you going WTF??!! I literally felt uncomfortable FOR her, it was that embarrassing!! Bliss was just so cute with her awkwardness that I couldn't possibly dislike her for being clueless at times. I did want to drag her away just to knock some sense into her at a few points in the story, but it was so a part of her quirky personality. And I wanted her to finally get to that point where she would allow herself to be with Garrick, but her inexperience and the impending end to her college years and pressures of 'real life' just made things so much more complicated for her. I respected her for not just jumping right into it once they had gotten to know each other, even though inside I was screaming "just rock his world already"!!!

The fact that Carmack really took the time to have the characters develop a friendship and actually have a realistic physical relationship for so much of the story was really refreshing. Every moment they were together you could feel the sparks flying between them, and it was maddening, torturous foreplay reading about the steamy makeout sessions they would sneak! But that perfect chemistry led to one incredible moment that had me weak in the knees, and it was worth the wait!!!! I really loved getting to know these lovable characters, and this was one love story that I highly recommend!

Smokeless Fire Blog Tour: Ari Interview + Giveaway!

Hello Ari, it’s a pleasure to have you here today. I have to say I'm every excited to have you here, you are indeed my first girl I have interviewed for my blog! It’s refreshing to be able to sit down with another lovely lady and chat!

So lets get down to business!!!

Tara: Ari, tell me, what was it like having a boy as a best friend?
Ari: Before everything fell apart for Charlie, it was great. Guys see the world a little differently and I loved his perspective on life. On the downside, having a boy as a best friend can be complicated. As we got older our feelings for each other changed and things got a little… messy…

Tara: Describe your perfect day. Who would be there? Where would you go? What would you do?
Ari: My perfect day? Honestly, there are so many people coming in and out of my life and all of them seem to want something… so I guess my perfect day would be somewhere quiet away from them all. I’d take some diet coke and some pizza with me and hope that Jai decides to spend the day with me in my ‘solitude’.

Tara: What is something we didn’t get to learn about you from the books?
Ari: I’m scared of turtles. No joke. Seriously. Why do they move so slowly? Is it because they’re planning something so masterful and shocking that it’s taking them all this time? These are little creatures with wise faces born with actual body armor! Evil geniuses planning the apocalypse…. I’m telling ya…

Tara: Tell me about when you met Charlie? What was the first thought in your head?
Ari: That kid stole my ball and I want it back.

Tara: Tell me something about Charlie that we don’t learn in the book.
Ari: His favorite movie is Aladdin. He tells everyone it’s Goodfellas but it’s Aladdin.

Tara: Tell me about when you met Jai? What was the first thought in your head?
Ari: That I didn’t trust him. Also, perhaps, that he was quite possibly the best-looking guy I’d ever seen.

Tara: Tell me something about Jai that we don’t learn in the book.
Ari: I’m still learning all there is to know about Jai. He doesn’t give anything away easily.

Tara: If you could another wish, no questions or tricks, what would it be and why?
Ari: To not be The Seal.

Lightening Round:
Red Vines or Twizlers? Twizlers
Sweet or salty? Both
CakePop or Cupcake? Cupcake
Coke or Pepsi? Coke
City or Mountain? City
Beach or River? Beach
Burger or steak? Burger
Day or night? Day
Brown or Blue eyes? Brown
Blond or brown hair? Brown hair
Favorite color? Green
Favorite place? Cincinnati Zoo

Tara: I want to thank you so much for sitting and chatting with me. any last words you want to say to all the Tater Tots out there?
Ari: Well, thanks for having me, Tara! And yeah, Tater Tots… be careful what you wish for.
